Personal Invitation from the BCSFA Leadership
BCSFA Members:
On behalf of the entire BCSFA Board & Conference Organizers, I invite you to our 2012 BC Sawfiler’s Association Conference next year. This will be a one, or two, day Conference that will include our AGM, guest speakers and an open forum for discussion that will involve sawfilers, managers, and suppliers.
The value our Conference brings to all Sawfilers, and in turn, the saw mill’s they represent, is enormous. Our primary focus, as always, is educational.
Our trade will lose a large percentage of its experienced workforce through retirement in the next five years along with countless years of filing experience. There is much to learn at our Conferences through conversations, in seminars, small group discussions, or one on one discussions. In order to minimize the effect of this, the new generation of filer (of any age) needs to rub shoulders with experienced filers, have meaningful discussions, glean their knowledge and experience. Additionally, we must use tools, such as the internet, to keep those discussions ongoing, and not be constrained by geography or the many companies we represent.
As the Executive of the BC Sawfiler’s Association we would like to thank all of our filers and their employers, the manufacturers and suppliers for their continued support.
We would also like to thank Tolko Industries for allowing us the use of their meeting room for our 2011 conference. We look forward to seeing filers, mill managers, and our suppliers at next year’s conference.
