Welcome and thanks for dropping in on the BC Saw Filer’s Association web site.  As you browse through the web site you will find articles, links to everything you can imagine pertaining to the sawfiling trade and information on Conventions past, and the 58th annual show to be held April 24 –26, 2008 in Prince George B.C.

 On the site you can check out the speakers and interesting topics for the seminars at the next convention, find the contact info for directors / executive, view hotel information, our newsletter - “The Straightedge” and register online for the convention in April 2008.

   This three-day convention is a great venue to check out new equipment and technological advances at the trade show, sit in on informative seminars, talk to prospective employers or employees and renew old friendships.

  Experiencing a roller coaster effect we have seen in the lumber industry due to; the softwood trade dispute between the Canada / US, the rising Canadian dollar and the worsening natural disaster caused by the pine beetle, it is even more important and beneficial to those whom attend these conventions. Hopefully each one of us is able to take home information or have learned something by networking; it may make a difference in saw maintenance for your mill to get the best performance possible and help our mills be profitable.

  I would like to thank the membership for the ongoing support of our Association and attending the annual conventions; and to the current executive, for stepping forward, volunteering their time to make our convention the best there is.
