Pastor- Joseph John (Joe)         Born in Also-Keked, Hungary Jan 13 1925. Died Feb 12, 2006 in Oliver B.C. Died peacefully in McKinney Place, after a lengthy struggle. He was predeceased by sons Stewart(1993) and Ritchie(2004). Joe is survived by his loving wife and partner, Marie, sons, Gary (Mary Anne) from Fraser Lake,BC., and Ron from Richmond,BC.; daughters, Shirley (Peter) Jones, from Lethbridge, Alta, and Terry Lynn Pastor and daughter-in-law, Terry Jean Pastor of Calgary, Alta. Grandchildren are: Christina Jones, Keith Jones (Jenny), Eric Pastor, Nicole Pastor, Travis Pastor, Dylan Winnington, Ashley Pastor, Sasha Chrosciewicz and Robyn Chrosciewicz. Great-grandchildren are: Jeoffry Rau, Mathiew Rau, Hanna Jones and Kyle Jones.       Joe's life had many facets. He came from Hungary as a child of 9 years and grew up in Penny, BC. He worked in the logging industry there, and met a School teacher who become the center of his life. Marie and Joe were married in 1946. In 1955, they moved to Vanderhoof BC with their five children. Joe worked in various positions in the wood industry becoming a Saw filer/Millwright along the way. Joe was very active in community affairs serving on town council for 10 years. His work in the local Kinsmen Club merited him a Life membership. A big part of Joe's life was his music. He played his trumpet in an orchestra called the Moonlighters who become a group much in demand in the area. Sports also played a big part in his life. He coached junior sports such as Babe Ruth baseball and minor hockey. He enjoyed all sports. He was on bowling teams, played golf in the summer and for 2 years he was "World Champion of Snowgolf". He loved his Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays. Joe retired from Plateau Mills after helping the Saw Filers Association develop a standard guide book for the profession(he was President of the Association in 1985). After his retirement he and Marie moved to the log cabin on Fraser Lake which they had built. They moved to Oliver, BC. in 1996 in search of warmer climes. They built a home amongst the many friends they found here and Joe continued with his music at the Oliver Senior center with the volunteer band and with his new group "The Hit Men". Joe will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
